NIGHT SHIFT CLINICAL SUPERVISOR
Location: Nashville, TN

Duties:


Coordinates staff to provide coverage for night shift clinical laboratory Assists in development and implementation of Clinical laboratory productivity improvements.

Coordinates the development and implementation of polices and procedures that guide and support Laboratory Services.

Develops, implements, and maintains effective department QA programs.

Monitors statistics and gives recommendations for QI to QA coordinator.

Serves as a peer liaison with department supervisors for start up of new test procedures and equipment implementation.

Reviews, edits, and approves staff time sheets in Kronos. Responsible for pre-approval of justified overtime from Night Manager. Submits overtime report at the end of each pay period to Night Manager / Clinical Operations Manager.

Protect assets of company by monitoring supply utilization by staff. Recommends quality improvements in areas to improve asset utilization.

Develop and maintain good working relations with supervisors in all departments.

Participates in cross departmental weekly meetings to improve overall night shift working conditions.

Assists in establishing and executing departmental long and short-term goals.

Assist in justifying and hiring the appropriate staff for clinical laboratory services.

Assist in preparing departmental annual operating and capital budgets.

Participate in weekly supervisor meetings.

Responsible for meeting the compliance guidelines for the laboratory industry.

Must be familiar with Corporate Compliance Program and Corporate Policies.

All other assigned duties.

Hours: M-F 11pm-7am
Requirements
· B.A./B.S. is required.
· Must hold a valid Tennessee Laboratory Supervisor’s License.
· Minimum of one year management experience.
· Must have proven track record in physician, employee and client relationships and in operational and financial performances.
· Must be able to make independent decisions, process information accurately, accurately report financials, manage multiple projects simultaneously and be organized.

Job Title: Medical Technologists

Job Location: Memphis, TN

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is a premier center for research and treatment of potentially fatal childhood diseases, including cancer and certain blood, genetic, and immunodeficiency disorders. Currently, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital has openings for the following Medical Technologists:

Coagulation Medical Technologist (Job Number 15262)

Urinalysis Medical Technologist (Job Number 15263)

The Medical Technologist in this position will function as the Technical Specialist in Coagulation.  Experience in performing plasma based Specialty Coagulation testing required.  Experience with Platelet Aggregation preferred.  Experience teaching students preferred.  This position will also rotate generalist coverage in Hematology and Urinalysis.  Personnel are subject to overtime and callback as necessary.

The Medical Technologist in this position will function as the Technical Specialist in Urinalysis.  Experience in performing automated and manual Urinalysis required.  Experience with IRIS IQ200 preferred.  Experience teaching students preferred.  This position will also rotate generalist coverage in Hematology and Coagulation.  Personnel are subject to overtime and callback as necessary.

These are full-time positions.  The successful candidate will work Monday - Friday from 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with rotating weekends and holidays. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or completion of medical technology program or equivalent in concordance with current federal and state regulations required.  

  • Tennessee licensure as Medical Technologist as a Generalist or Specialist in assigned laboratory section required.  

  • 6 years of medical technologist experience required, of which 3 years of experience must be in performing method validation, quality control evaluation, writing procedures, process improvement, advanced troubleshooting, and inventory control.  

  • Supervisory licensure preferred.  

  • Eligibility requirements will be in compliance with current State of Tennessee Division of Health Related Boards.  

  • Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP, NCA, or AMT preferred.  

  • Specialist Certification in assigned area by recognized accrediting body such as ASCP preferred.

Job Description: 

The Medical Technologist in Pathology is responsible for the prompt, efficient, and accurate performance and reporting of routine laboratory test results used for the purpose of prognosis, diagnosis, treatment, and research. Under the direct supervision of the Technical Director, Section Head, Shift Supervisor or designee, the MT resolves problems with assistance and is responsible for the assigned shift as scheduled. This position is full time with variable day shifts, rotating weekends/holidays.

 

Job Qualifications: 

Bachelor's Degree or completion of medical technology program or equivalent in concordance with current Federal and State Regulations. Medical Technologist entry level skills obtained through clinical rotations are required. Tennessee licensure as Medical Technologist as a Generalist or Specialist in assigned laboratory section required. Eligibility requirements will be in compliance with current State of Tennessee Division of Health Related Boards. Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP, NCA, or AMT preferred.

This position is Monday - Friday, 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m., and rotating every 6th weekend.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree or completion of medical technology program or equivalent in concordance with current federal and state regulations required.
 
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Medical Technologist entry level skills obtained through clinical rotations are required.
 
CREDENTIALS REQUIRED BY LAW OR REGULATORY BODY: (Primary source verification required)
Tennessee licensure as Medical Technologist as a Generalist or Specialist in assigned laboratory section required. Eligibility requirements will be in compliance with current State of Tennessee, Division of Health Related Boards.

Aerotek Staffing in Chattanooga, TN has some positions available!

There are 4 positions available, (2 in 2nd shift and 2 in 3rd shift), for Medical Technologists and Medical Lab Technicians in Knoxville, TN.

In this position, the candidates will be testing serology samples in a fast-paced and high volume environment. The facility receives samples in high volume and the typical testing is for Hepatitis and HIV.

Each candidate must have a valid TN license and national certification and PERSONALITY is a huge plus. The company is offering a sign on bonus of $1200, PTO, relocation assistance, and benefits.

The pay is as follows:
Medical Lab Technician        Medical Technologist
2nd shift: $19.00/hr               2nd shift: $21.00/hr
3rd shift: $20.00/hr                3rd shift: $22.00/hr


If the candidates do not have a TN license as a MT or MLT and have a license elsewhere, they have to provide proof of National registry, which entails ASCP, AMT, and NCA.
